SRD Hoodie V1

£69.99

The hoodie I’ve been trying to find for about twenty years.
I’ve travelled a lot, and I’ve nearly always travelled wearing a hoodie.
Not because hoodies are technical outdoor gear. Quite the opposite. They’re the thing you reach for when the airport’s freezing, the ferry’s late, the train’s packed, the hotel room’s cold or you’re trying to get a bit of sleep sitting upright.
Over the years I’ve flown to Taiwan, crossed Europe by train, spent nights on ferries and lived out of small backpacks. Every journey taught me there were little things I’d change if I ever made my own.
So I did, with my mate Iain from Trickett.
At first glance it’s just a grey hoodie. That’s deliberate. The interesting bits are hidden.

Hidden pocket
Hoodie pockets are brilliant until they aren’t. Everything ends up in the same pocket until one moment it isn’t. And then somehow your headphones have disappeared. Inside the front pocket is a hidden zipped pocket. Big enough for a passport, cards, cash, phone, AirPods. The things you really don’t want to lose.

Better sleeves
Most hoodies bunch around your elbows when you’re sitting down for hours.
We made the sleeves on this one so they are shaped with an articulation patch so they move with you better. We cut out thick fabric and stitch in thinner material, so whether you’re carrying a backpack, driving, reading or pretending you’re asleep so nobody sits next to you, there’s less bunching. It’s a small change, but after a long journey you’ll notice it. And it’s just nice.

A hood that behaves
Most hoodie hoods either fall off your head or stick up like a pointy hat. This one doesn’t.
Three panels give it a better shape, and we deliberately made the neck a little snug too. Actually – it’s got six panels, as it’s double lined. It wraps around your head properly, keeping the warmth in and making it much easier to disappear into yourself for a while.

No itchy labels
I hate neck labels. Turns out lots of other people hate them too – so there isn’t one. The size and branding are printed inside the hoodie instead, leaving nothing scratchy rubbing against the back of your neck.

No hood drawstrings
Because we’ve designed the hood right, it doesn’t need drawstrings. Which is good because they just irritate me and get in the way. So they’re not there.

Made right tough
We bar-tacked the areas that take the most abuse, because this isn’t designed to spend its life folded neatly in a wardrobe. It’s designed to travel.

Built to be worn
Heavy enough to feel reassuring. Soft enough to disappear into.
It’s 450gsm brushed loopback – mostly cotton because that’s what feels best to wear, but with some recycled polyester to help it wash well, dry quicker and keep its shape after being stuffed into bags far too many times.

None of these things are revolutionary on their own. They’re just lots of little improvements that add up to my favourite hoodie. Hopefully it’ll become yours too.
